Pentair ECP1-BB Big Blue Sediment Water Filter

Pentair Pentek ECP Series Cartridges are manufactured using a special blend of resin-impregnated cellulose and polyester fibers. This unique combination of materials results in cartridges that are not only stronger than regular cellulose filters, but also have high flow rates and a large dirt-holding capacity. Despite these features, the cartridges maintain an extremely low pressure drop. To further enhance their durability, the media is pleated around a polypropylene core. The standard cartridges have pleated endcaps that are dipped in thermo-setting vinyl plastisol, while the Big Blue cartridges have molded endcaps with gaskets. The pleated ends are sealed to the endcap using a thermoplastic adhesive. Additionally, the overlap seam is sonically welded to minimize internal bypass and improve filtration efficiency.

For easy identification of micron ratings, the ECP Series Cartridge endcaps are color-coded: tan for 1 micron, white for 5 micron, blue for 20 micron, and yellow for 50 micron. Keep your water clean and protect your appliances by removing dirt, sand, silt, and other particulates. These cartridges are designed to fit all 10" Big Blue housings and can be used as a replacement for any 10" x 4.5" heavy duty sediment filter cartridge. They have a longer lifespan compared to many competitors, as they contain 33% more dirt holding media. Thanks to their unique blend of resin-impregnated cellulose and polyester, these cartridges are stronger than standard cellulose filters. It is recommended to replace the cartridge every 6 months or when a drop in water pressure or quality is noticed. The cap is color-coded, making it easy to identify and replace.
